DR. BUDI MILLER
Dr. Budi Miller is a globally recognized figure in the field of theatre and acting, with a career spanning over three decades across multiple continents. He made history as the first Black person to serve as the Head of Acting at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, a role he held for seven years.
As Co-Artistic Director of The Theatre of Others and Director of Advanced Training at the Fitzmaurice Voice Institute, Dr. Miller integrates a wide range of somatic and energetic practices into actor training, including Balinese Performing Arts Training (BPAT), Mask Work, Fitzmaurice Voicework, Michael Chekhov, Clown, Viewpoints, and Grotowski techniques.
Dr. Miller has coached performers across multiple mediums, including Michelle Williams for her Academy Award-nominated role in Brokeback Mountain and Jonathan Majors for Lovecraft Country (HBO), Creed III, and Ant-Man III (Marvel Universe). He has also worked with Julian Elijah Martinez (Wu-Tang: An American Saga). His work spans Broadway, HBO, Netflix, Showtime, and international film markets.
Certified in Bioenergetic Healing and Theta Healing, Dr. Miller's teaching focuses on releasing trauma and unlocking emotional blockages to enhance performers' physical and emotional presence. His integrated approach emphasizes the connection between mind, body, and spirit to help actors develop their full potential on stage and in life.
